It all started back in the ancient year of 2000 A.D. Back in 6th grade. My friends and I enjoyed when I drew little comics of me with a lightsaber, slicing away at some kid no one liked. They were really funny, we loved the slapstick humor and I drew multiple copies on paper for people. I decided to take things a step further. After drawing twenty or so comics on paper, single paged, on looseleaf, I decided I would make a website for them; in July of 2001, [LC] was born.I made a cheap predefined template website off of 20m.com, and uploaded the paper comics in all their glory to the website. Everyone at my school thought it was awesome. As I look back on that site design and layout, even the comics, it sucked. So eventually, I spiced up the template little by little, until it looked acceptable. People loved it. But I wasn't satisfied. I decided to take it a step further and make the comics animated gifs. So I took all my old paper ideas, or at least, the ones I felt like doing, and made them animated. I uploaded those to the website and they were even more of a hit. So I kept on production.
Then. Then I got the game Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast. What an awesome game. So after my few months of noob-time, I created a clan. What to call this clan? Why, nothing other than, Lightsaber Comics! Of course I encouraged the recruits to check out the website before joining, and then recruited them a few minutes later. Over a few months, I filtered out the newbies, the losers, and the people who just didn't care, and kept the good ones in the clan. They are the ones who are in the forums today. Once Jedi Outcast faced it's death and Jedi Academy, the sequal was born, we all moved over to that game. I was a few months late, actually, but nonetheless I entered the game all the same. We've spent much time in that game, playing free-for-alls and enjoying slaughtering everyone else in the game. The good old days.
Back to the comics. Eventually I decided the comics seemed a bit naive. I changed them into flash animations with sounds and color. They looked nice, but then I ran out of time to make them. [LC] hung by a thin thread, relying on the community and old clan members. I let the .gif comics live on the site, as a memory of such a good time long ago. Then, a good friend of mine, the first true member, Joseph "NeXuS" Liberator, ignited the spark in me to bring [LC] back to what it should be. A fun, Jedi Academy gaming clan and community, which withstands all competition, and prevails throughout any hardship. We are living proof of an indestructable community and force in gaming. So, here we stand. What the future holds, we will discover. The legend continues.
